Gem Open Baffle / Dipole Speaker

The Gem is a very high performance speaker that will rival even the best loudspeakers. It can be ordered as a complete speaker or a DIY speaker that is shipped via a flatpak worldwide.
The Gem is available in a range of colours as well as veneered real wood.
The Gem utilizes a customized full range driver of the highest quality and a 15" woofer to provide a smooth frequency response.

The Gem uses a 2 way crossover for perfect phase and near flat amplitude response. Crossover summation problems remain the most significant flaw in most production speaker systems made today. Real world systems have a roughness in the frequency response through the crossover region. By using a 2 way crossover and carefully selected crossover point response abberations are avoided, particularly in the critical midrange frequencies.

Rigpa Open Baffle / Dipole Speaker

The Rigpa is like no other speaker. Despite it's moderate cost, it will perform favourably when compared to any speaker at any price.

The Rigpa utilizes a customized full range driver of the highest quality and a 18" woofer to provide a smooth and full frequency response.

Without a box enclosure the drivers produce a frequency response consistant with the driver specifications. As the drivers have no interaction with a tuned box there is no possibilty of booming or anemic bass. Consequently the bass is incredibly natural without the one noted bass heard with most box speakers.

The Rigpa uses a 2 way crossover for perfect phase and near flat amplitude response. Crossover summation problems remain the most significant flaw in most production speaker systems made today. Real world systems have a roughness in the frequency response through the crossover region. By using a 2 way crossover and carefully selected crossover point response abberations are avoided, particularly in the critical midrange frequencies.

Like, other OAD products, namely the Vajra and Padma, the Rigpa also utilizes patented technology. By modelling each driver and finding their electrical equivalent from their mechanical properties a dual network is added to provide a constant impedance load to the crossover dividing network.

If crossover networks are to behave according to plan, it is ideal if the drivers present a terminating impedance that is constant. This results in a speaker that is very easy to drive due it's unique flat impedance presented to the amplifier.

Frequency Response: 20-20kHz
SPL (Sound Pressure Level): 90dB
Impedance: 8 Ohm flat impedance

Patented Flat Impedance Crossover

By utilizing the OAD Ultrafidelity Perfect-Xover Technology, the Rigpa ensures that the crossover will perform exactly as designed as all crossover topologies (such as Linkwitz-Riley, Butterworth, Bessel etc.) can only be designed by specifiying a fixed input and output impedance. However, with all other loudspeakers, the output of the crossover works into a varying impedance which will affect it's voltage, phase and crossover point. The Rigpa has no such problem as the crossover sees an unvarying impedance.
